A PROPER GUIDE TO INSTALL BHARAT FRP MANHOLE COVERS & FRAMES
  • Do not over hang the frame: The frame should be fully supported on the chamber wall or slab as shown in the picture below.
  • Never cast the frame concealed in the slab While constructing the manhole, most of the time the frame is cast along with the slab. This makes the bearing for the frame very thin. Due to this, the slab on which the frame rests will fail. The proper way is to cast the frame on TOP of the slab as shown in the picture below.
  • Top of conical brick, Manhole should be leveled with concrete The voids created at the top of conical brick, the manhole is often left empty. This creates a gap between bottom surface of the frame and top of brick work. The gap is never filled properly while plastering and hence, should be leveled with concrete to have perfect contact with the bottom of the frame.
